Over a week ago, I was writing about how blogging kept cabin fever away. And again, I was unable to write for a few days… yet a reservoir of blog posts, written in advance, got me through that. Similarly, I’ll need a reservoir of chapters if I am to publish a webnovel later on, parallel to a novel I hope to traditionally publish…
Reservoirs get us through tougher times. There was a time, after my dad died, when I decided to build a reservoir of happy memories to get me through other tough times too. So I took over half a year off of work (a bad boss was a factor in that too) to help my brother and to deal with stuff while enjoying life. Reservoirs of memories got me through extreme isolation in North Africa during the pandemic. No human contact for over 3 months. Bleh. Never doing that again. Two kittens and a very DIY balcony garden helped, too.
As my vacation (and surgery recovery) winds towards its close, I wonder… Will I be able to sustain my blog or a webnovel alongside my day job? 🙁 It is a worry. Or will it be yet another year of distraction before my novel meets a publisher’s inbox?
I just don’t know.
