About a decade ago, I wrote the worst story I have ever written. It was a tough sem. I failed nearly all my classes except for a foreign language and this one creative writing workshop class.
The story made no sense but I submit it anyways. The most interesting character was a side character, and the rest of the story was the dullest I have ever written. Later, when sense found me, I shredded and burned every copy – except for a critique by Vinnie Pacleb, who had drawn this side character.
Elizabeth Samson, UP ROTC Corps Commander. A hero of a character, she had saved lives from a fictional lightning storm typhoon that wrought extensive damage near campus.
Had I any sense that semester, she would’ve been the protagonist and not a side character!
I have since remedied this, and hope to someday publish a webcomic about Beth Samson’s exploits in Marawi and after. 🙂
